New challenges and opportunities for the European AKIS (Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System)

Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (AKIS) present at the same time challenges and opportunities for the European farmers. First, a landscape analysis of AKIS in the EU is presented. Farmers on the one hand are expected to play a key role as data providers by the new CAP and national regulations, with a likely increase in their burden. On the other hand, AKIS and other information systems represent an opportunity for knowledge sharing on how to innovate in agriculture, also in face of climate change.
