A graduate in Journalism and Advertising from the Faculty of Information Sciences at the Complutense University of Madrid and an MBA in Commercial Management and Marketing from the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Juan A. Peñamil was the founder, together with Mª Dolores Peñafiel Fernández, of the Mercacei Magazine in 1994. Since its creation until today, he is the owner and CEO of Grupo Editorial Mercacei, a leader in the publication of professional publications in the olive oil sector.
